Twenty-five players have been selected to join the national women side which will face Tanzania in a friendly match to be staged at Amahoro Stadium, on July 16.
The selection process which attracted 35 players was conducted on Friday at Kigali Regional Stadium, and the selected players immediately started non-residential training. The team will go into residential training camp on July 9.
The process was conducted by the women football team head coach Grace Nyinawumuntu alongside FERWAFA Technical Director, Hendrik Pieter de Jongh and his assistant, Jimmy Mulisa.
Next month’s friendly match will be held as part of the activities to mark the 2016 Africa Union Summit which will be held in Kigali-Rwanda from July 10-18.
Rwanda’s national women football team was last active two years ago, taking part in the 2014 African Women Championships qualifiers.
