SWISS 2-1 POLAND 3pm

The first of the eight quarter final games will pit two sides playing in the knockout phase of European championship for the first time. But while Switerland have been lively, Poland have looked anything but abysmal. Robert Lewandowski is yet to score and winger Jakub Blaszczykowski is playing from the bench. Switzerland have a chance here.

WALES 3-0 N. IRELAND 6pm

Wales and Northern Ireland are in their first appearance at a Euro Championship. But on the basis on Northern Ireland’s performance against Germany, this match should be a foregone conclusion. Welsh win.

CROATIA 2-1 P’TUGAL 9pm

Croatia are looking too classy that lackluster Portugal might need three Cristiano Ronaldos to manage a draw.

SUNDAY

FRANCE 1-1 IRELAND 3pm

A grudge game this. "Ireland owe France. They owe them pain, misery and suffering. They owe them a defeat and should they somehow manage to knock them out of they own tournament, a beautiful revenge will be theirs,” wrote Luke Edwards for The Telegraph. In 2009, the two sides met in a World Cup playoff. First leg ended 1-0 to France, with Ireland biting back in Paris. Into extra time and Thierry Henry literally dragged the ball into the path of William Gallas to score. Ireland missed out on 2010 WC but have never forgotten that incident. They will get it via post-match shootouts.

G’MANY 4-1 SL’VAKIA 6pm

Slovakia humbled Germany in Munich 3-1 in the final Euro buildup game, but now all the German machines are back. No room for error.

HUNGARY 1-1 B’GIUM 9pm

Hungary have showed their grit to top Group F, including that game of the tournament so far against Portugal, but Belgium is a different game player. Belgium to win in extra time.

MONDAY

ITALY 1-2 SPAIN 6pm

The toughest round of 16 tie pits defending champions Spain against Italy. Spain should see of the Azurri.

ENGLAND 2-1 ICELAND 9pm

Noisemakers England will be prevail against Iceland.

COPA AMERICA FINAL

ARGENTINA 3-1 CHILE 2Am

Lionel Messi’s form will be the difference in this repeat of last year’s final won by Chile.
