Rwandan rapper and lyricist Kivumbi King was featured on The Times Square's billboard, one of the biggest and busiest advertising spots in the world, displayed on Broadway Times Square, in New York City, on Wednesday, December 13.
Kivumbi becomes the first Rwandan artiste to feature on Times Square, where they showcased his recently released track ‘Wine,’ produced by Man Made, that premiered on November 3.

This comes days after he met hip hop icon Kendrick Lamar who recently traveled to Rwanda for headlining Move Africa show that took place on December 6 at BK Arena.
"We made it on the streets of New York Times Square, unbelievable!” Excited Kivumbi King wrote on Instagram while sharing his Times Square photo.
This comes at the time when the rapper is dominating charts with hit songs like Captain, Keza, Yalampaye, Salute, and many others making rounds on streaming platforms and local airwaves.
The Cyacyana poem maker has also been announced among performers of The Blankets and Wine concert taking place on Sunday, December 17, in Kampala, where he will share the stage with mega stars like Konshens of Jamaica.

The artist rose to stardom when he released ‘Madam’, his first solo release, and ‘A Sin Called Dreaming’, his debut album.
He became a household name in Rwanda after dropping ‘DID’, one of the best albums of 2021, which featured regional artistes like Nutty Neithan from Uganda, Kirikou Akili of Burundi, and Bushali of Rwanda, among others.
