BK counter sheds Rwf10 on the bourse

Bank of Kigali shed Rwf10 yesterday in a slow day at the Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE), the bourse daily market report indicates. The counter traded at Rwf280, a drop from Rwf290 on Monday.

Bank of Kigali shed Rwf10 yesterday in a slow day at the Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE), the bourse daily market report indicates. The counter traded at Rwf280, a drop from Rwf290 on Monday. 

The lender recorded a total turnover of Rwf84,000 from 300 shares traded in one deal. Crystal Telecom counter also dropped by Rwf1, trading at Rwf78 compared to Rwf79 previously. The firm registered a total turnover of Rwf8.5 million from 111,100 shares traded in four deals. The falling share prices of Bank of Kigali and Crystal Telecom counters pushed down the RSE Rwanda Share Index by 2.60 points to closed at 142.85 points, while the All Share Index dropped 0.32 points to 130.11 points.

Meanwhile, the bond market was quiet yesterday, and so were the other equity counters at the exchange.

Bralirwa closed at Rwf169, NMG was at Rwf1,200, KCB at Rwf330, while Equity Bank was at Rwf334, and Uchumi Supermarkets at Rwf104, the market report indicates.

The Bank of Kigali counter received outstanding offers of 76,800 shares at Rwf280, investors were ready to buy 100,000 shares at Rwf265. Bralirwa had outstanding offers of 35,600 shares at between Rwf170 and Rwf173, but there were no buyers, while the Crystal Telecom counter got offers of 780,400 shares at between Rwf78 Rwf87, and a bid for 2,400 shares at Rwf77. On KCB counter, there was an offer of 9,700 shares at Rwf340. On the bond market, there was a bid for Rwf33 million worth of bonds at Rwf102, but there were no offers.
