APR beat Rayon Sports to keep lead in V-ball league

Title hopefuls APR defeated archrivals Rayon Sports in straight sets 3-0 over the weekend to maintain the lead in the volleyball league table standing, while defending champions INATEK also won 3-0 against Kigali Volleyball Club—both matches were played at Amahoro indoor stadium.

In other games, IPRC-South beat Lycee de Nyanza 3-1, Umubano Blue Tigers (UBT) lost to Kirehe 0-3. APR leads the table with 33 points after 13 rounds of matches; four points ahead of second-placed INATEK, who however, have played two games less.

Kigali Volleyball Club (five points) and UBT, who have three points all from 11 matches, appear to be on the way back to the second division, and their places in the top flight division are likely to be taken by Rusumo High School and Groupe Scolaire de Butare (Indatwa), which are doing well in the second division with 24 and 23 points respectively after 11 rounds of matches.

In the women category, Rwanda Revenue Authority maintained their unbeaten run after edging Ruhango High School 3-0. The reigning champions lead the table with 33 points after 11 rounds. APR beat St Aloys 3-1 to stay second on 27 points while IPRC-Kigali won 3-0 over St Joseph.
