FERWAFA to receive new communication devices for referees

Following the approval of the CAF Executive Committee, two (2) sets of Wireless Audio Communication System for Referees will be presented to each of the 54 Member Associations affiliated to CAF.

Following the approval of the CAF Executive Committee, two (2) sets of Wireless Audio Communication System for Referees will be presented to each of the 54 Member Associations affiliated to CAF.

According to the statement from Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), the donation of the multi-function device is in line with the CAF Referees Committee’s development strategy to further strengthen and upgrade referees’ performance coupled with the introduction of the latest technology to its competitions.

The device will greatly contribute to enhancing referees’ decisions, boosting their performance and strengthening communication, resulting in team building capacities, team work as well as enhancing consistency in decision-making.

Each set consists of a configuration with six terminals, two chargers, six headsets plus push-to-talk, five armbands, two belts and one carrying bag.

So far, deliveries have been sent to 34 Member Associations namely Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, DR Congo, Egypt, Eritrea, Equatorial Guinea and Ethiopia.

The rest are Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Lesotho, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa and Swaziland.

The 24 other Member Associations are expected to get of their devices in the ensuing weeks.
