The roads from Kigali Business Centre (KBC) to Gishushu past the Ministry of Justice and that from Umubano Hotel to KBC will remain closed to traffic due to construction works at a new roundabout opposite the Kigali Convention Centre.
According to a statement issued by the City of Kigali, these roads will reopened on Monday at 5am.
Travellers from Gisementi will access the city centre through the Gisementi–Gishushu-Lemigo Hotel-Rugando-Kigali Convention Centre route.
Motorists from Gisementi to Kacyiru will use Gisementi-Gishushu-Nyarutarama-Tennis Club-SOS-proceed via Ministry of Agriculture route or alternatively use the Gisementi-Gishushu road and pass behind Lemigo Hotel-Rugando-KBC roundabout and behind Embassy of the Netherlands to Minagri.
Motorists coming from the city centre to Gisementi are advised to use the City Centre-KBC roundabout-Rugando behind Lemigo Hotel-Simba super market- Gishushu- Gisementi, while for those coming from the city centre to Kacyiru will use the road City centre-Kimicanga-La Colombiere-ministries area in Kacyiru or use the road City centre-KBC-behind Embassy of the Netherlands-Ministry of Agriculture (Minagri).
Traffic Police officers would be on hand to direct motorists.
Authorities are working round the clock to complete the construction of the bypass routes around Kigali Convention Centre in time for the African Union Summit due July.
