Defender Nirisarike joins Belgian side AFC Tubize

Rwanda international defender Salomon Nirisarike has joined Belgian second division side AFC Tubize on a two-year contract and will wear jersey number 24, according to the club’s official website.

Rwanda international defender Salomon Nirisarike has joined Belgian second division side AFC Tubize on a two-year contract and will wear jersey number 24, according to the club’s official website.

The 23-old Rubavu born defender ended his two year spell at Sint-Truidense V.V., a Belgian Pro-league side which he joined in 2014, after managing only 11 appearances in the just concluded season.

A statement on the club’s official website, reads, "AFC Tubize continues to strengthen by recording the arrival of Salomon Nirisarike.”

"Regularly called with the Rwandan national team, the native of Gisenyi has 11 international caps, and Nirisarike has signed a two-year contract and will wear the number 24, we welcome him home.”

The former Isonga FC defender will be making his second spell in the Belgian second tier where he featured for Royal Antwerp from 2012-2014.

He made his international debut for Rwanda in 2012 and has so far played 11 times for Amavubi Stars.

Association Football Club Tubize, is a Belgian football club based in the city of Tubize. The club last played in the first division in 2008. Last season, they finished in the fourth position with 57 points in 32 games.
