RWANDA’s football association, Ferwafa has called off a friendly match which would draw the national U-20 team against their counterparts from Uganda on November 12.
The Ferwafa CEO Jules Kalisa said that the junior wasps’ friendly was called off to pave way for the senior team’s friendly game against Togo which will be played on November 19 in Lome.
"We decided to call off the game so that the senior team can on go with their friendly against Togo.”
"We can not manage to raise the needed resources for two friendly games in a space of a week.”
However, Kalisa insists that this will not hinder the preparations for the U-20 team as many of its players may as well find their way into the senior team’s build up games,” Kalisa said.
The junior wasps have continued their build-up matches. They pulled off a 2-0 upset against national league champions Atraco.
The result is a big boost for Obradovic Tomislav’s side which has a tough challenge ahead as it plays host to the Africa Youth Championship.
