The Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) mourns one of their own, Col. Willy Bagabe, who passed away in a Indian hospital on Friday.

According to the acting defence and military spokesperson, Lt. Col. René Ngendahimana, the deceased Senior Officer has been under medical treatment in India.

Ngendahimana said: "We extend our deepest sympathies to his family. This is a very sad moment they are going through. He is a member of our military family as well and we grieve with his family".

"Communication regarding his funeral arrangements will be made later after consulting with his family and after his body arrives back home. Again, our hearts are saddened by this loss and our thoughts and prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
