Group A leaders Espoir BBC are eager to emerge victorious against U-18 Boys Team this afternoon and have set their sights on a semi-final berth in the ongoing Gisembe Genocide Memorial Tournament.

The former tournament winners, who lost 55-57 to Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK) in last year’s final, will be looking to avoid last year’s nightmares when they face youthful U18 Boys Team at University of Rwanda’s College of Science and Technology (UR- CST) courts in Gikondo.

The Nyamirambo-based giants failed to defend their league title and are keen to save their season.

They had won the league for the previous four seasons consecutively, since 2012. Espoir are in Pool A alongside U18 Boys Team and IPRC- Kigali whom they beat 78-61 last Sunday.

"All is in place for the game, players are fit and the mood in the team is excellent. We need to win this game, we won’t undermine the opponents through,” Espoir coach Jean Bahufite told Saturday Sport.

In Group B, Patriots have already booked their ticket to the semi-finals after winning all their three pool matches, against; IPRC- South, UGB and APR and will meet the first runners-up from Group A in the round of four slated for the weekend of June 10 at Amahoro stadium.

In the women’s fray, league champions APR take on Eric Dusabimana’s Hoops Rwanda.
