HIGH-PROFILE members from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) are likely to grace the draws for the 16th edition Africa Youth Championship set for November 28 in Kigali.

The Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa said yesterday that they expect to host a top level delegation from CAF like president Issa Hayatou or Secretary General Mustapha Fahmy.

"Mr. Slim Aloulou, chairman of the Organising Committee of CAF Youth Competitions will be present to conduct the draws,” Kalisa said.

Meanwhile, the continental body has also called upon all representatives from qualified countries to honour the draws.

"You are invited to delegate a member of your Federation or a representative from your diplomatic mission in Rwanda to attend the ceremony on your behalf.

"Failure of any representative to be present shall not debar CAF from proceeding with the drawing of lots at the scheduled date and time,” a statement issued by Mustapha Fahmy read in part.

Meanwhile, Egypt, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana confirmed their places for the 16th African Youth Championship after the final round of matches which winded up played last month.

The Young Pharaohs of Egypt beat the Zambian counterparts 4-3 on aggregates while Cote d’Ivoire beat Burkina Faso 5-2, Cameroon beat defending champions, Congo 2-0 and Ghana pipped Gambia 3-1 on aggregates.

The Amajita of South Africa ousted neighbors Botswana 4-1 and Nigeria’s Flying Eagles routed Sudan 7-2 on aggregates respectively.

The winners will be joined by hosting country Rwanda and defending champions Congo Brazzaville in the final tournament to be held in Kigali from January 18 to February 1, 2009.
