APR FC goalkeeper, Steven Ntalibi and Gicumbi Fc striker, Antoine Dominique Ndayishimiye have been included in the Amavubi squad undergoing intensive preparations ahead of the 2017 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Mozambique slated for June 4th at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
Ntaribi and Ndayishimiye replace suspended Mukura players; goalkeeper, Andre Mazimpaka and attacking midfielder Yussuf Habimana.
According to a press release by Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) on Tuesday, the pair was slapped a one-month ban and a Rwf 50,000 fine by the football body’s disciplinary committee following their involvement in the chaos that marred the National football league match between Mukura VS and Rayon Sports at Huye Stadium on match day 19, which ended 2-1 in favour of Rayon Sports.
With the ban in effect, the players are not allowed to play for the national team in the upcoming 2017 Africa Nations’ Cup qualifiers.
Amavubi play Senegal in a FIFA friendly on Saturday May, 28th at Amahoro National Stadium and the 2017 Africa Nations’ Cup qualifier against Mozambique is on June 4th.
Meanwhile, Salomon Nirisarike joined the Amavubi camp on Tuesday night while East African-based quartet of Jacques Tuyisenge (Gor Mahia), Abouba Sibomana (Gor Mahia), Haruna Niyonzima (Young Africans) and Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza (Azam Fc) will arrive on Thursday. France-based Elias Uzamukunda will join camp on May 29.
