DR Congo side, AS Vita Club, has been disqualified from the 2016 CAF Champions League for fielding an ineligible player,  Idrissa Traore, CAF confirmed on Tuesday.

Mamelodi Sundowns who lost 1-0 to AS Vita Club at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville and won 2-1 in the away leg will now play in the Champions Leagues group stages.

The CAF Organizing Committee for Interclubs Competitions reviewed a complaint by Stade Malien (Mali) on the eligibility of the player Idrissa Traore used by AS Vita (DR Congo) during the preliminary matches of the 2016 Orange CAF Champions League.
