Volleyball: APR get double win to remain in title race

Former volleyball league champions, APR VC won two games against IPRC-South and Kirehe on Saturday and Sunday respectively to stay in contention for the title.

Former volleyball league champions, APR VC won two games against IPRC-South and Kirehe on Saturday and Sunday respectively to stay in contention for the title.

On Sunday, APR beat Kirehe VC 3-1 (31-29, 25-23, 23-25 and 25-21) in a game played at Amahoro Indoor Stadium which moved them to top position with 27 points.

On Saturday, Sammy Mulinge’s team beat host IPRC South 3-1 while INATEK lost 3-2 against Kirehe on Saturday to drop to second place with 23 points with two games in hand.

"We need to give our best for next games, the league has become complicated and we need to be focused to win every game. We have earned all six points which boosted our chances to stay in race of the title,” APR coach Sammy Mulinge said.

Rayon Sports had to forfeit points after failure to show up for their games against Lycee de Nyanza on Saturday and IPRC South Sunday. As a result the club lost lost six points for the two missed matches.
