Emerging artiste Prince Ishimwe, also known as Darest, calls upon music lovers to listen to an exploration of the human experience in his upcoming debut Extended Play (EP) "Death and Depression.”

This introspective collection of songs was inspired by Ishimwe's profound realization of the silent struggles faced by those who have lost their loved ones unveiling the raw and often unspoken layers of pain and depression that follow in the wake of such profound loss.

The EP courageously confronts the shadows that linger in the aftermath of sorrow after understanding the silence surrounding grief. A total of five songs; ‘Papa’, ‘Dear Mom’, ‘Bwiza’, ‘Somebody’ and ‘Mama’ make up his debut EP.

"This Ep means a lot to me because I gave it 100 percent, both melodically and lyrically. I also felt like I challenged myself while thinking about these Songs. It is going Expose what I do and in the future people will realize how rich this EP is,” Ishimwe said.

In sharing his debut EP, Ishimwe articulates a profound belief that individuals can navigate the healing process following the wounds inflicted by death of a loved one. Drawing from personal experiences of growing up without his father and grandmother, Ishimwe intimately understands the void such absence creates.

This perspective extends beyond his own narrative, from observations of friends and others, collectively inspiring the thematic core of the EP. Through this musical journey, Ishimwe seeks to provide a platform for individuals to convey their emotions, offering a unique channel for expressing sentiments to their departed loved ones.

The EP has no collaboration and the artiste confirmed not having plans for that any time soon, but hopes to do it on his 15th song. "I will release a collabo that people will love and I would like to tell my fans and music lovers to support me and buy my EP on my website and more music are going to be released,” said Ishimwe.

He invites listeners to join him on this journey through the depths of human emotion offering solace to those who have experienced the profound ache of loss and shedding light on the importance of open dialogue in the face of grief.

The artiste’s EP tends to encourage open conversations about grief and mental health. With awareness of the societal tendency to suppress these discussions hopes that his music will help break the silence surrounding the struggles that often accompany loss.
