Fast-rising artiste Ariel Wayz is basking in the glow of success after gracing the stage at the inaugural Move Afrika on Wednesday, December 6, alongside Grammy award-winning rap icon Kendrick Lamar, Rwandan sensation Bruce Melodie, and Tanzanian star Zuchu.

With only three years into her solo career, Ariel Wayz has quickly become one to watch in the music scene. During her Move Afrika set, she also provided a platform for fellow musicians Kivumbi King and Bruce The 1st, who joined her in a performance of their viral track "Demo."

In an exclusive interview with The New Times, Ariel Wayz shared her thoughts on the experience of Move Afrika and the impact it could have on the Rwandan music industry.

"The Move Afrika experience was very different; I gained valuable insights, connected with influential individuals, and found inspiration in the dedicated team who organized the event. In a nutshell, every moment was enjoyable. I anticipate that Move Afrika will contribute to the growth of our music industry by generating more opportunities for us.”

"Moreover, I believe Move Africa will play a major role in attracting investment, not just within or for the country but also in our creative sector. My sincere gratitude goes to Global Citizen for their support and contributions to my journey as an artist,” she said.

When asked about advice for fellow local musicians aspiring to perform on the Move Afrika stage in the future, Ariel Wayz emphasized the importance of hard work, knowing one's values, being prepared to deliver, and always looking for the bigger picture in every situation.

The artiste shared that the rehearsals, stage design, and overall crowd reception set Move Afrika apart from the typical concert experience.
