Police in Rwanda and Uganda are jointly investigating circumstances under which three Rwandan nationals were over the weekend killed in Uganda, The New Times has heard.

Media reports indicate that the three men were on Sunday night murdered on the Ugandan side of the border after being accused of theft.

Rwanda National Police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner of Police Celestin Twahirwa said: "At the moment, I can’t tell you much other than the fact that the Police from both countries have talked and investigations are underway.”

The killers reportedly moved the dead bodies from the crime scene and onto Rwandan territory. Ugandan media identified the deceased as Allen Bampolikyi, Alexander Munyankinde alias Raster, and Moses Ndimubanzi alias Moshi.

The area in which the bodies were found, Tabagwe sector, is a border region which residents from both countries usually criss-cross with ease.
