Rayon Sports will be hoping to continue their winning streak when they take on Sunrise this afternoon in Rwamagana in the national football league.
The Blues coach, Djuma Irambona Masudi, who has acknowledged that the race for the league title is difficult, goes into the game on the back of a 4-0 drubbing of Bugesera in mid-week that left the Nyanza based club one point behind league leaders APR, but with a game in hand.
"I am very pleased with the way my team are playing, but we have to keep the same spirit. We are on a good level in the game, and we want to improve every game and ,hopefully, against Sunrise, it will be even better because we want to stay in the race for the title,” Masudi said.
He added that, "It will be a very tactical game, but we will try to score early and create many chances. The league is difficult, it is not a guarantee that we will win that game.”
Rayon Sports’ opponents are currently in 7th place and keen to finish in the top 4.
"We will try our best to win the game because we want to finish in the top four. It is difficult to play against Rayon Sports these days but our home record has been fantastic,” Sunrise head coach Sosthene ‘Lumumba’ Habimana said. He is a former Rayon Sports player and coach.
Meanwhile, defending champions APR will play Muhanga on Sunday. Elsewhere, Marines host Bugesera at Umuganda Stadium while fourth place AS Kigali take on Musanze at Kigali Regional Stadium.
Rayon Sports strikers Malian Ismaila Diarra and Ugandan Davis Kasirye, Andre Lomami (SC Kiyovu) and Police striker Dany Usengimana are the top scorers with 12 goals each.
