Kigali is a busy city throughout the week. As delegates unwind from their busy meetings at the opening of the World Economic Forum today, a visit at some of these interesting places around the city is recommended.

Good coffee: Have you been dreaming of having a sip of the famously known Rwandan coffee? Well this is the chance for you. As you enjoy Rwanda and get to know more about it, take a few hours and go visit the beautiful cafés that hold Rwanda’s beauty in a beverage. Places such as Bourbon Café, this has branches all over Kigali,  Master’s lounge, Cannabera , Shokola, Simba Café, Café Neo, Blues Café among others will give you a chance to taste the sweet Rwandan coffee.

Century cinema: For those who love movies, they can relax just by only watching their favorite movie star in action, Century cinema is the place for you. Equipped with 3D, the place is fortified with the latest movies which one enjoys on a huge screen. It is situated at the Kigali City Tower just in the heart of the city and with it one can really have a fun night out.

What’s showing: This Wednesday night, the cinema will be showing a movie about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi called ‘Football; my savior’.

Karaoke Nights: If you love singing, then karaoke nights in Kigali are the best option for you. Stroll into Master’s Lounge at MTN Center in Nyarutarama at 8PM onwards and bring out the singer in you as you sing your lungs out all night long.

Nyama Choma: If you enjoy roasted meat, then the Royal Carwash and Caiman are the places for you to be. The highlight of these places is that they are always open and there is never shortage of roast ribs, pork, chicken or any nyama choma of your choice. Walk in and you will never regret it.

Art Galleries:  If there is anything that Kigali has been blessed with, its art galleries. Artists have indeed worked hard to display the gifts of their hands; their work beautifully and thoughtfully made is worth a glimpse, an appreciation that would be welcomed warmly. Some of these include Niyo Arts gallery, Ivuka Arts, Inganzo Gallery, Uburanga Art Studio, Inema Arts and Yego Arts Center, among others, most of which are located in Kacyiru.

Bars: Some years back, one could hardly differentiate a weekend from a weekday as people were always in by 10pm latest. This has changed profoundly because Kigali’s nightlife is booming. Clubs and Lounges are in place to entertain people as they dance the weekly stress away. Places such as The Mirror Hotel, Chillax Lounge, K-Club, and Papyrus, among others are some of the places one can enjoy on a Friday night out and feel the fun.
