The Office of Rwanda’s Auditor General (OAG) has won the best Performance Audit Report Award in the African Organisation of English Speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) region, for its report on “Utilisation and Maintenance of Irrigation and Mechanisation Equipment.”
The Office of Rwanda’s Auditor General (OAG) has won the best Performance Audit Report Award in the African Organisation of English Speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) region, for its report on "Utilisation and Maintenance of Irrigation and Mechanisation Equipment.”
The award was announced on Monday during the ongoing 13th meeting of the AFROSAI-E Governing Board taking place in Abuja, Nigeria.
The objective of the audit was to assess whether irrigation and mechanisation equipment under the responsibility of former Irrigation and Mechanisation Task Force had been adequately utilised and maintained so as to contribute to increased agricultural productivity.
The award was received by the Auditor General of Rwanda, Obadiah Biraro.
"OAG is grateful to the Government of Rwanda, the Parliament and its Development Partners whose continued support has enabled us to achieve this award,” Biraro said in a statement.
