Women national league title hopefuls Kamonyi FC will be aiming to keep their winning streak when they visit Gakenke FC today to keep pressure on table leaders, AS Kigali.
The Southern Province-based side, seeking to end AS Kigali’s seven-year grip on the national women football league, suffered a 1-0 loss against the defending champions, but have managed to bounce back and are now third on the league table with 10 points, five behind leaders AS Kigali.
"We have picked the rhythm and our target of dethroning AS Kigali still stands, I hope we can get a win at Gakenke and close the gap on them (AS Kigali),” said Kamonyi head coach Emmanuel Habiyambere.
Meanwhile, Grace Nyinawumuntu’s AS Kigali will also be hoping to continue their unbeaten run and extend the lead when they host Inyemera FC at Kigali Regional stadium.
