Patriots looked unstoppable from start to finish, easily winning all the four quarters; 38-8, 36-9, 25-4 and 38-15, respectively.

Former league champions CSK stood no chance against Henry Mwinuke’s side, a blend of youth and experienced, led by national team captain Aristide Mugabe.

Patrick Habiyamere scored game high and his career best 34 points, with Ali Kazingufu and Elie Kaje contributing 31 and 27 points, respectively, for the two-old year Kagugu-based Patriots.

With two victories last weekend and Wednesday’s emphatic win, Patriots are two victories are away from winning their maiden league title. But that will come after they beat Rusizi on Saturday and closest challengers IPRC-South in what could be the title decider, on May 14.

Meanwhile, the league continues this evening with two games; defending champions Espoir take on Moise Mutokambali’s U18 Boys Team, at 6pm, which will be followed by the clash between APR and in-form IPRC-Kigali, at 8pm. Both games take place at  Petit Stade in Remera.

Espoir, Patriots and IPRC-Kigali share top spot with 30 points each, but Patriots have played one game less. IPRC-South are in fourth with 28 points.
