Tanzania thrashed Rwanda 3-1 to clinch third position in the 2023 CECAFA U18 Tournament on Friday, December 8.
The game played at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium saw the Junior Taifa Stars outplaying the Junior Amavubi from the start to the end. After the early exchanges, Tanzania took control of the game and scored the opener through Zidane Ally Sereri in the 19th minute.
Said Said added Tanzania's second with a superb strike before Didier Ndayishimiye reduced the parity for Rwanda with a perfect finish in the 38th minute.

Rwanda coach Jean Baptista Kayiranga brought on Elisa Tinyimana and Jean Paul Irakoze for Chris Shami and Sultan Sibomana, respectively.
But the changes did not help after Tanzania hit back with the third in the 49th minute through John Misheto in the 49th minute.
Rwanda reorganized themselves and held their might at the back with goalkeeper Yvan Ruhamyanyiko making some superb saves as the game ended 3-1 in favour of Tanzania.
The Junior Taifa Stars won the bronze medal following the well-deserved victory.
