Challengers Cricket Club captain Srinath Vardhinen is confident that his side will repeat last year’s feat to win this year’s V.R NAIDU T20 finals slated for May 8 at Kicukiro cricket ground.

The three time winners and last year’s treble winner will be up against their arch rivals Right Guard in what is always considered as the best game in Rwandan cricket.

The two teams have the best and experienced players that have played in major cricket tournaments both at local and international levels.

For the last three years, challengers has dominated Rwandan cricket with now 7 titles in all competitions which include UAE, computer point, V.R Naidu, and RCA-T10.

"We won three trophies last year including UAE, V.R Naidu and RCA- T10,” said the team captain Srinath Vardhinen before adding that the same team that played and won everything last season is still the same this season.

Srinath said his players will never underestimate any opponent. "Individual players have to execute their roles very well as defined by the team management. I have no doubt that we shall win this tournament if every player plays to his very best and according to the game plane,” he said.

Challenger’s cricket team skipper however warned that Right Guard has star players that can cause harm if given space.

"We have to be at our very best if we are to retain this trophy, Right Guard is a very strong side with very many experienced players and who are all on the national team,” he said.

On the way to the finals Challengers lost only one game against Kerala Hunters in group B and won the rest including against Impala titans, Telugu and Indorwa.
