Rwanda football body, Ferwafa, filed a complaint to CAF about the age discrepancies of four Ugandan players including the skipper Halid Lwaliwa.
Others are goalkeeper James Ahebwa and field players Martin Kizza and Frank Tumwesigye.
In the statement published on the FUFA portal yesterday evening, the Ugandan body confirms having filed a response to the continental body by providing a set of documents on the players in question.
"The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) would like to clarify on the matter that was brought to our attention by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after Rwanda FA lodged a protest on the variation of birth dates of four players in the U-20 team,” the statement reads in part.
Players eligible for this tournament must have been born on 1st January 1997 or after and all Ugandan players mentioned fall in this age group, the Ugandan body says in the statement.
The protest by FERWAFA is being examined by CAF and any other communication on this matter will be released by the competent bodies of CAF.
