SCORED HATTRICK: Mohamed Tchite

Mohamed Tchite a.k.a Meme inspired Racing Santander to a shock 4-2 victory over Li Liga leaders Valencia, who were unbeaten in the league this season until Saturday night.

The striker opened the scoring in the 23rd minute but Valencia were level three minutes later when David Villa scored from the penalty spot.

Tchite restored Racing’s lead four minutes into the second half but Valencia refused to give in and pulled level through Joaquin in the 70th minute.

But, 10 minutes later, the Belgian-Rwandan completed his hat-trick and a David Albelda own goal in the closing stages capped a miserable night for the hosts, who drop to third in the table.

The striker could probably turn to Amavubi Stars for his international career after efforts of play for Belgium faded recently.

Tchite who was summoned earlier to feature in Belgium’s 2010 World Cup qualifiers was dropped by the Belgian FA after a ruling from Fifa that the player was only eligible to play for Rwanda.

The former Mukura VS striker, who is eligible to play for DR Congo, Burundi, Belgium and Rwanda, has been at center of loyalty ‘war’ between the Burundian and Rwandan football governing bodies.

He started his footballing career with Prince Louis in Bujumbura before featuring for Rwanda’s Mukura Victory Sports in 2002.

In 2003, Tchite made his professional debut for Belgian club Standard Liege.

He publicly made his intentions of playing for Belgium clear when he became a Belgian citizen back in July but Fifa denied him the right of featuring for the European team.
