Rwandan musician DJ Pius and his Ugandan counterpart, Dr Jose Chameleon will this weekend launch the video of their hit single, Agatako at Plus 250 lounge (Friday) in Kicukiro and Class Club (Saturday) at The Mirror Hotel in Remera. "I always had a dream of working on a project with Dr Jose Chameleon but I didn't expect it to come this soon. We met at a function in Uganda and I proposed the idea to him and he immediately bought it. He is my favourite East African Musician. ” DJ Pius said.
About the song, he says, "Agatako is a Kinyarwanda word that means 'souvenir' or 'beautiful decoration' meant to be kept as a reminder of a special 'bond of love.’ The video launch surprisingly happens on his (Chameleon) birthday so we decided to make a joint celebration” DJ Pius added.
Agatako video was shot in Rwanda by video director, Meddy Salleh, over a period of two days at a cost said to be between US $4000 and $5000. Apart from DJ Pius and Dr Jose Chameleon, the evening will be graced by Jody Phibi, Big Fizzo (Burundi) and Charly and Nina of the ‘Indoro’ fame. Comedian Arthur Nkusi is the host.
