NORTHERN PROVINCE

MUSANZE—Orphaned youth from the four sectors of Cyuve, Rwaza, Gashaki and Gacaca have been offered training on catering, carpentry and tailoring.

The 215 youth will benefit from a program at the Centre Dushishoze, supported by Global Fund and CNLS.

The coordinator of gender-balance advocacy project DEFRWA, Hassan Munyankiko, said that the major aim was to empower the vulnerable youth on self-sustenance and development.

The training will focus on elementary education of the challenges of life, especially HIV/Aids; poverty-eradication, and a six-month training on hospitality management and tailoring.

Musanze is one of the densely populated, and youngest, districts, with the over 75 per cent of the population below 18 years of age.
