Dear editor,
I would like to applaud the efforts of the Rwanda Information Technology Authority (RITA), to make ICT a reality in Rwanda.

The recently concluded Intego Award was a good move to encourage and place the ICT mark in Rwanda.

These awards, which are in line with the National Information and Communication Infrastructure plan (NICI), recognized over 20 ICT companies.

That is, public policy makers, technocrats, institutions of higher learning and civil society.

All these are influential in the progress achieved in the country’s ICT sector.

The use of ICT will turn Rwanda into a Knowledge based economy.

Including all the sectors in ICT facilitates a holistic realisation of the country’s development as put in Vision 2020.

I believe that in order to achieve the vision 2020 strategies, we need to join hands with other farmers around the world, to help us improve our farming methods.

This is not a simple project!

However, with the commitment and dedication, that RITA portrays, things will just work out and very soon; Rwanda will be the leading ICT centre in the region.
