Breaking down RITA’s ‘Intego’ Awards

The same way I always wished I would vote in the forthcoming US presidential elections for Barak Obama is the same way I wished I would have had voted in the 2008 Intego ICT awards.

The same way I always wished I would vote in the forthcoming US presidential elections for Barak Obama is the same way I wished I would have had voted in the 2008 Intego ICT awards.

Given the chance I think I would have chosen to abstain. And the only reason would be because the nominations and the stratification of the categories from very start were out of contention.

The placement of the nominees left me confused and wondering how I would have waivered my vote.

How was ORTPN valid for the nomination of the award of best e-Tourism solution? And what about RTV…why would it be nominated in the category of Best e-Agriculture?

For starters, how should we understand the acronym ICT?

The Google brothers describe it as any kind of technology that converges the functions of carriage of information (data, voice, images etc ) and thereafter effectively relaying them over any medium.

Information, Communication and Technology can’t be separated.

Despite the fact that I have to much respect for the company that won the best infrastructure I have reservations that I have already raised in these pages.

My ultimate question is: Why was The New Times left out of all the nominations? The last time I checked on my weblyser New Times’ web portals including www.newtimes.co.rw and www.izuba .org.rw are the most visited Rwandan websites in the world.

Last month alone The New Times’ website attracted over 100,000 unique IP addresses and over 4 million hits.
