Mukura vs APR 3:30pm

National Football League title hopefuls Mukura FC are optimistic for a win against reigning champions APR when the two sides meet this afternoon at the newly refurbished Huye stadium at 3:30pm.

Mukura FC are in buoyant mood despite suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Andre Casa Mbungo’s Police over the weekend.

"It’s going to be a tough game; APR is a side that’s always hard to beat regardless of the venue. A win would come handy, we will do everything possible to get a positive result and I am confident my players can get it done,” Burundian-born tactician Okoko told Times Sport on Tuesday.

"We need to put Sunday’s defeat against Police behind us and focus on the race for the league title as it’s still widely open, it’s not time to give up. Players should bear a strong mentality and play like it’s a final” he added.

Mukura FC, one of the country’s oldest football clubs, are currently third with 32 points from 16 league games.  A victory today will move them one point ahead of second-placed APR who have 34 points, one behind table leaders Rayon Sports.

Djuma Masudi’s Rayon Sports also today play AS Kigali at Kigali Regional stadium in Nyamirambo at 3:30 pm.
