The Cabinet on Friday October directed that the entire Nyabihu District Advisory Council be dissolved. The Cabinet immediately appointed Jean Damascene Ndagijimana as an interim caretaker and Frank Kobukyeye as his deputy until a new committee is elected.

In a meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame at Village Urugwiro, the Cabinet also appointed Celestin Kabahizi as the Governor of Western Province to replace Penelope Kantarama who was recently appointed Secretary General in the Ministry of Internal Security.
