Rwanda international striker Jacques Tuyisenge has promised to deliver in his first season with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) defending champions, Gor Mahia.

Tuyisenge waited over two months to make his debut due to injury, but has now scored three goals and made one assist in his only two appearances for Gor Mahia following his big money move in January from Rwanda Police FC.

The 24-year-old Amavubi forward has been struggling with a knee injury since he joined Gor Mahia, but last week helped his side to move to sixth position, four points behind leaders Tusker, AFC Leopards and Mathare United.

"Gor Mahia signed me to score goals and I am working hard every day to respond to them because it is great club and I am getting better every day. Gor Mahia is a big club and I am well aware of the expectations of the club. The fans are expecting good things from me,” said Tuyisenge.

"I have been with team for some time; I understand the policy and everything about the club. It is now time to continue to deliver because I have commitment to the club. I am sure this club will get better and players are well connected,” he added.

He noted, "I have been out for quite sometime, but now I am feeling better and I want to continue to score goals. I am responding well to training and in the games but I have to continue to work hard. But I can assure you that I will be even better.”

Tuyisenge will be playing his first derby match against Tusker on April 16. Tuyisenge is in sixth position of Kenyan Premier League top scorers list, behind Obadia Ndege of Mathare United and Wycliff Ochomo Muhoroni of Muhoroni with five goals.

Tuyisenge started his career in Etincelles before joining SC Kiyovu in 2009. Later he joined Police FC where he spent four years.
