Nyagatare Women Football club may be suspended from the Women Football league after missing two league games without an explanation.
The club has been served the last warning, which means that if it doesn’t turn up for their next game, it will be the end of the road for the club.
The Eastern-based side has not played any game since the season started having missed their opening and second games against Kamonyi and Gicumbi’s Inyemera FC last weekend. The opponents were awarded maximum three points.
FERWAFA has vowed to disqualify the club if it does not turn up for the next game.
"According to FERWAFA rules and regulations, if any club fails to show up at the pitch for three times in a season, without a valid reason, it is automatically disqualified from the league, so with Nyagatare, they are left with only one game,” said Albert Mwanafunzi FERWAFA’s head of Competitions’ commission.
Efforts to reach Nyagatare club officials were futile by press. The club currently lies bottom of the league table and will face Rambura FC in their next game. The league has taken a short break and will resume on April 16 after Genocide memorial week.
