More than 50 teams from across East Africa are expected to take part in the Paul Bitok/AMACO International Volleyball tournament slated for May, 14-15 at Eldoret Polytechnic in Kenya.
National Volleyball League side, Kirehe Volleyball Club and NEMO stars from Uganda have confirmed their participation.
According to Bitok, the founder of the tournament, more than 50 teams from across East Africa are expected to take part in the May edition.
"We are meeting soon with sponsors and see if we can raise the money this year. We hope to have a better tourney than the previous. Kirehe and NEMO Stars have confirmed their participation,” Bitok said.
Kenya’s biggest Volleyball event has been moved from June to May. Winners will take home Sh100, 000 with first and second runners up pocketing Sh50, 000 and Sh25, 000 respectively in women and men’s category.
The tourney will have the junior category for schools where the winners will be awarded Ball’s and nets in women and men’s category.
This tourney was initially set to be staged from June 17.
