The National Paralympic Committee of Rwanda (NPC) has signed a partnership with their Luxembourg counterparts aimed at developing sports for people with physical disabilities.

According to NPC president, Celestin Nizeyimana, Luxembourg, will train Rwandan athletes, scout for more talent and send the most promising youngsters for the high-level training camps in the European country.

"The partnership will be focused on fostering technical assistance and training camps in Luxembourg, this kind of the partnership will help us to develop sports for people with physical disabilities,” Nizeyimana said on Friday, after the signing ceremony at the NPC offices at Amahoro Stadium.

He noted that, "Luxembourg is the best country in Para Cycling and they will help us in developing different games because we will be sending our athletes and teams to train there and they will also come to train in Rwanda.” 

Paralympian Cliff Hermas Muvunyi will be the first beneficiary from the partnership—he will travel to Luxembourg in June for the further preparations ahead of the 2016 Rio Paralympics Games in Brazil scheduled for September 7-18.
