Handball league defending champions Police will be eager to extend their lead at the top of the league table when they take on University of Rwanda’s College of Arts and Social Sciences today in Huye.
A win would see Antoine Ntabanganyimana’s side go three points clear at the top with 15 points with their closest rivals APR, resting this weekend.
"We have a chance to widen the gap at the top on Saturday before the short break,” said Police handball club coach Ntabanganyimana.
The four-time league winners are yet to lose a single game in the league stretching over two seasons, and according to Ntabanganyimana, the aim is to maintain that unbeaten run.
Before today’s match, Police and APR are level on 12 points, followed by ES Kigoma and Kibogora in the third and fourth positions respectively with 11 points each while College Inyeramihigo are in fifth position with seven points.
Nyakanda, ES Urumuri and GS Rambura occupy the bottom three positions respectively.
Meanwhile, after this weekend, the league will take a short break because of the Genocide commemoration week.
