Rwandan music lovers especially those into Jazz will tomorrow be treated to an evening of entertainment from a diverse selection of musicians dubbed ‘Divaz Jazz Experience’ at the monthly Jazz Junction event at Serena Kigali Hotel.
The evening of music will see four musicians from different countries share a stage to perform a farewell tribute concert for Neptunez Band singer Masha Davids Mukalazi, who will be performing with the band for the last time as she will be leaving to pursue her solo career back in Uganda.
Mukalazi, who has been the lead female vocalist of the band since 2014 will be joined on stage by her colleague Lydia Lillian Namudope, local singer Nina Umuhoza, Ugandan guest singer Sheeba Shashai and the main guest slot will be occupied by US citizen Barbra Bannett, who is a classical music tutor with vast experience in jazz and classic modern music.
The band’s director Remmy Lubega told The New Times that the event is organized monthly to give music lovers in the country, something to look forward to, adding that every edition is a different experience.
"This is a cosmopolitan town, which means that you are going to find people whose tastes are diverse. What we do at the Kigali Jazz Junction is to provide the kind of entertainment where no one feels left out and every month, we endeavor to bring something new,” says Lubega .
The event is organized by RG-Consult Inc., a creative and events agency in Rwanda, in conjunction with Neptunez Entertainment Company. The show kicks off at 7PM.
