Dr Rose Mukankomeje, the incarcerated Director General of the Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) is set to appear before the Nyarugenge Intermediate Court today.
Speaking to The New Times yesterday, Faustin Nkusi, the spokesperson for National Public Prosecution Authority, said they would charge her with breach of professional secrecy, concealment of evidence, and tarnishing the image of the state.
Mukankomeje, who was detained slightly over a week ago, is alleged to have perverted the course of justice in a separate case involving former local leaders in Rutsiro District of the Western Province.
Prosecution received her dossier from Police on Monday, Nkusi said.
However, Nkusi said her case will be tried separately from her co-accused Gaspard Byukusenge, former mayor of Rutsiro district, and Thomas Murenzi, the former district executive secretary; the two have been detained since late last year.
