Business Initiative Directions (BID), an International organization which was set up to check and implement the culture of quality in top-local, national, continental or global companies, has awarded Banque de Kigali a platinum international star quality award 2008.
This is the second time the bank has received an award from the organization. The first was an International award for excellence and prestige which took place in New York in 2007.
James Gatera the Managing Director of Banque De Kigali yesterday returned to the country with the award from Geneva where the function took place.
"After a systematic analysis of the entire life cycle of Banque De Kigali, which includes customer satisfaction, corporate social responsibility, services, information and data analysis, performance and way forward, the organization was satisfied in ranking the bank as one of the best banks internationally,” says Gatera.
The organization has aimed at achieving improved quality in work so that firms could reduce costs of production and increasing profits as well as efficiency at work.
He explained that good customer care improves on the customer’s turn-up in a business and leads to good performance hence increases on the profits Gatera further revealed that the bank has made a profit of RWF 4.7 billon.since January.
"This has come as a result of proper handling of our clients which makes them satisfied with our services hence attracting more of them,” says Gatera.
Banque De Kigali is the only bank in Rwanda which has been authorized by Visa International to make use of the Visa cards. The authorization is based on quality work, technology standards, good performance and ability.
"The major aim of introducing the Visa cards is to assist our customers who travel abroad since other banks here in Rwanda have not yet joined the system but there are some specific hotels which have adopted the system.
