White Clouds defeat Queens of Victory in V.R Naidu T20

White Clouds have gained revenge for last year’s defeat by trouncing Queens of Victory by seven wickets in the on-going V.R Naidu Twenty20 tournament yesterday at Kicukiro cricket ground.

White Clouds have gained revenge for last year’s defeat by trouncing Queens of Victory by seven wickets in the on-going V.R Naidu Twenty20 tournament yesterday at Kicukiro cricket ground.

Queens of Victory defeated White Clouds in this tournament last year and ended their chances of proceeding to the final, which Charity cricket club won to take the trophy.

White Clouds won the toss and batted first making 148 runs in 15 overs for the loss of three wickets—the team relied on power hitting of their star players Nicole Gihozo and Gisele Ishimwe whose partnership produced 86 runs not out.

Gihozo was the star of the day with 41 runs in 36 balls and one wicket. "They defeated us last year and it was a bad feeling for the entire team,” saidWhite Clouds captain Veronic Iriho.

In reply, Queens of Victory were all-out for just 59 runs in 15 over s, with Divine Uwimana (19 runs) and Lillian Niyonsaba (9 runs) coming out their shining star players.

She Guards remains on top of the table with 10 points, followed by Charity CC on 8 points and White Clouds move up to third position with 6 points. Queens of Victory and Fawe Girls School are on bottom of the table without a point.

Meanwhile, in the men’s category, Impala Titans cc will face-off with Kerala Hunters today in morning and this will be followed by the spar between Kigali CC and Kigali Warriors, both games will be played at Kicukiro cricket ground.
