The quarter-final ties of Europe’s premier club competition have been announced, with an all-Spanish affair the highlight of the fixtures.
La Liga’s top two, FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, will face off, with the first leg to be played at the Camp Nou.
This tie is effectively a replay of the 2013-14 quarter-final stage, when, on that occasion, Atletico knocked the Catalans out of the competition 2-1 on aggregate. A 1-0 win at the Calderon was enough to send the Rojiblancos through.
The third Spanish side in the draw, Real Madrid, take on German side VfL Wolfsburg. Los Blancos will travel first.
In another glamour time, financial powerhouses PSG and Manchester City will go head to head. The French capital club will host the first leg.
The final match-up sees Bayern Munich, who progressed beyond Juventus thanks to an incredible comeback, pitted against another side that was forced to come from behind to qualify: Portuguese giant Benfica. The Bavarians will host the opening match.
The first legs of each match will take place on 5 and 6 April. Return bouts are set for 12 and 13 April.
