Amagaju vs Rayon Sports 3:30pm
Rayon Sports will be looking to win and go on top of the table when they visit Amagaju FC today in a national league match at Nyagisenyi stadium in Nyamagabe District.
The game was initially supposed to be played on March 8 but it was called off because of a waterlogged pitch following heavy rains.
Rayon Sports are third on the log with 29 points and a win will take them above current leaders Mukura Victory Sports, who have an inferior goal difference of 10 as compared to Rayon Sports 15. Amagaju are ranked 10th with 18 points.
Interim head coach Djuma Masudi is confident, "We are ready for game, all players are available, we don’t have any injuries and I am hoping for a positive result.”
"Amagaju are very tricky opponents, especially at their home ground. They are one of the difficult sides to play against, but we have to be confident because we want to remain in the race for the title,” added the Burundian tactician.
He drew his first game against Espoir 1-1 before thrashing Musanze FC 3-0 last week thanks to goals from Davis Kasirye, Ismaila Diarra and Kevin Muhire.
His counterpart, Abdul ‘Beken’ Bizimana, says his team will be put to upset Rayon Sports and dent their chances of winning the league.
"We are playing at home. We want to win and move up the table. Rayon Sports are one of the biggest teams in the league, so we have to be ready physically and mentally, which we are,” said the former Etincelles coach.
On Tuesday, Marines handed title hopefuls Police FC their first loss of the season following a 2-1 win at Umuganda stadium to jump to 13th place with 13 points.
Blaise Itangishaka and Aimable Nsabimana scored the goals for the Rubavu-based side, which notched a third win of the season in 12 matches while Rwanda international Danny Usengimana netted the consolation for Police, who remain in 5thplace with 24 points from 13 matches.
