It has been five years since multi-talented artist cum writer Aimable Kubana dominated radio waves on the then popular late night show, Ijoro Ry’Urukundo on City Radio.
Kubana, who is now based in France, is set to launch a new website called Wateta.com in May. The website was inspired by his talk show and also listeners who wrote to him, asking if he could write about the topics covered in the talk show.
"I thought of writing a book but I realised that creating a website where I can interact with lovers of the talk show and reach more people is faster and better,” he says.
The website will talk about love; it will have a love doctor where people can share love queries, tips, and even try out online dating.
"It’s something I have been passionate about for a long time,” he says.
Born in 1976, Kubana worked as a journalist and event manager after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi before relocating to France.
He is the author of several titles like Urukundo N’Ibigeragezo, Iraha Ry’Akanya Gato, Genocide Testimony and most recently Tu Es Tutsi Mon Fils (2015) he is a cultural artiste with songs like Abakobwa B’Iwacu, Nkundira Wirira and an album called Nzaza Ejo.
Most of Kubana’s work is family centered and is inspired by his difficult childhood.
"I had a difficult childhood and from what I saw, I vowed to help people solve their family issues,” he said.
From a young age, he picked an interest in human behaviour and recently graduated with a diploma in Psychology.
