I read with keen interest a recent letter from Yulian, one of your readers, titled "Rwanda can become a medical services hub.”

For sure, yes, Rwanda can become a medical services hub, with a proactive Ministry of Health already in place.

It is with this in mind that our partner, SevenHills Hospital, has very generously offered to train as many as forty-eight Rwandan nurses at their world class, super specialty facility in Mumbai, India.

The first batch of three nurses has already come, trained and returned back to their Butaro Hospital. It is sincerely hoped that the Rwandan nursing fraternity will take advantage of this free training which also includes free boarding and lodging at their well appointed serviced apartments, located within the SevenHills Health City itself.

What is most encouraging is the fact that SevenHills has very graciously extended this training facility to Rwandan doctors as well.  

In any business, good marketing and administration is vital for sustainable growth and success of a business entity. No less with the health sector.

Keeping the robust development of Rwanda’s health sector in mind, the hospital has also taken on young management graduates from Kigali Institute of Management and also from University of Rwanda so as to train them in international marketing and hospital management.

To crown it all, "medical camps” are being held on a regular basis in Kigali to offer premium health care consultancy services within the reach of the common man and woman in Rwanda.

This skill development initiative will gradually equip Rwanda’s health sector with well qualified and well trained doctors, nurses and hospital administrators so that at the opportune moment and with the right financial support from Government and private sector partners of Brand Rwanda, we could well see, God willing, "SevenHills” in the Land of a Thousand Hills!
