Cricket: Right Guard beat Kigali Warriors

Right guard cricket club skipper Eric Dusingizimana has praised his players after a wonderful display against their competitors Kigali Warriors in the on-going V.R.Naidu T20 cricket tournament yesterday at Kicukiro cricket ground.

Right guard cricket club skipper Eric Dusingizimana has praised his players after a wonderful display against their competitors Kigali Warriors in the on-going V.R.Naidu T20 cricket tournament yesterday at Kicukiro cricket ground.

Right guard opted to bat first and put 164 runs in 20 over’s, Orchide Tuyisenge was on form after making 36 runs in 18 balls and 4 wickets.

The Rwandan U-19 right -arm spinner kept top of the chart after single handedly making 41 runs taking his tally to 111 in all the three games he has played in this tournament.

Bosco Tuyisenge and Derick Bayingana were also unstoppable as they all managed to score 29 and 23 runs respectively.

"Winning keeps us in the title race,” said excited captain Eric Dusingizimana after his side had entered into second position with 8 points after two victories from three outings.

In response, Kigali Warriors only managed to put 70 runs all out in 10 overs. Ram Gokur and Eugine Haragirimana both made 27 and 15 runs respectively.

Elsewhere in group A, Kigali cricket club walked away with 4 points and boosted its chances of progressing to the semi-finals.

The Kigali based cricket club got free points due to the failure of VCC to turn up for the game which was supposed to be played early in the morning.

Group A is becoming more competitive with Indorwa on top with 12 points in all games, followed by Right Guard with 8 points in three outings and KCC with 8 points and victory in the last position with no point.
