Kirehe Volleyball Club has upset former champions APR after winning in straight sets 3-0 in a national league match played on Saturday in Kirehe.
Pierre Kwizera’s side dominated the former champions by taking all three important points, (25-23, 25-23 and 25-20).
"This is a big achievement for us, but we have to work hard for the next games. The league is too long and we have to maintain our form,” former APR player, Kwizera said after the game.
APR recovered to beat debutants IPRC-South 3-0 on Sunday, but Kirehe went on to lose to the defending champions INATEK 3-2.
INATEK have 11 points after four games, Kirehe, APR have six points after three games, UBT and Kigali Volleyball Club have one game while Lycee de Nyanza has not won a single game.
