Reigning champions Espoir and hopefuls IPRC-South square-off today at Amahoro indoor stadium in what is expected to be one of the biggest games in this year’s national basketball league.

It is a game that means a lot for both sides, who have invested a lot in terms of preparations. Overall Espoir holds the edge 3-2 in head-to-head meetings.

However, IPRC-South, who are second in the table, have the momentum having won the last two meetings, including the pre-season tournament final last November and the league first round encounter last month.

"Players are well prepared physically and psychologically, a win today is very crucial and we are ready to put up a solid performance. It’s going to be difficult because Espoir are a tough team to beat. However, my team is ready,” IPRC-South trainer, Didier Bineza said on Friday.

His Espoir counterpart, Jean Bahufite said, "We can’t afford a third successive defeat to IPRC-South, the players understand the task ahead and I’m confident we can have our revenge.”
