Rwanda Television now on DSTV

Rwanda Television (TVR) can now be accessed on DSTV – Multichoice digital satellite TV service inAfrica. This latest development is major boost for Rwanda’s public broadcaster as it is now accessible across the continent.

Rwanda Television (TVR) can now be accessed on DSTV – Multichoice digital satellite TV service inAfrica.

This latest development is major boost for Rwanda’s public broadcaster as it is now accessible across the continent.

TVR can now be watched on channel 299 after being connected to the platform Thursday Morning,

In a brief interview with The New Times, Arthur Asiimwe, the Director General of the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency welcomed the development.

"We are delighted to be on this platform that is accessed by millions across Africa. We appreciate the support accorded to RBA by the top leadership of this country and promise our audience continuous innovations in our programming," Asiimwe said.

He added: "Being on DSTV means continuous transformation in our programming and adoption of latest broadcasting technology. We have embarked on a new project of broadcasting in full HD" 

Many Rwandans will also be happy with the news as one was obliged to have multiple decoders, one for DSTV and another for  TVR – the most viewed TV station in the country.
